Christian Dating Redefined - The Why and How...

Have you heard the phrase, "The Singlehood Phenomenon?"  The United States now has the oldest and largest singles population than ever before in history (43%).  Why, you ask?  Well, there's no easy answer, as the problem is quite complex.  There are a lot of factors that play into this dilemma, such as the high divorce rate, cohabitation, narcissism, focus on career, and the list goes on.

One of Cache' Connections' underlying goals has always been to send a message of healthy biblical dating to society, to "redefine Christian dating" in the 21st Century.  We're not talking about changing what the Bible has to say about dating and relationships, but to help people make sense of dating as a Christian in this decade.  Yes, there are certain standards and principles the Bible lays out for us, such as being equally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14) and physical intimacy is intended for the boundaries of marriage (Genesis 2:24), and those principles should always be the foundation for dating as a Christian.

But there is so much confusion going on now, especially among Christian singles.  We've heard over and over, "I don't even know how to date."   Part of the problem is the world's message of "anything goes" is prominent and although Christian singles are aware of the Bible's standards, they are questioning how it plays out in the real world today and whether it's even relevant.

Christian Dating Redefined was established to not only remind singles of God's principles, but to help them understand how to put those principles into practice today and create a formula for success in relationships.  At Cache' Connections we are all about educating singles to date with an authentic and intentional focus in a God-pleasing manner. 

But, we want to go beyond the basic principles and help singles deal with their day-to-day dating life, answering questions that aren't spelled out in the Bible.  In other words, Christian Dating Redefined will help with answers to questions like, "How do I know whether I should date someone?" or "How do I let someone know I'm interested in him or her?" or "Is there just one person for me to marry?" 

Here's how this program is unique - we are asking the Church to partner with Cache' Connections to meet singles where they are today in their area of interest.  We know churches believe in relationships and love because that's how God designed man and woman (Genesis 2:18).  But we also know that helping singles connect and form relationships is not the church's focus.  Therefore, a lot of churches don't really know what to do with singles and consequently are not addressing their needs and interests. 

So we're knocking on church doors and helping them to understand this "Singlehood Phenomenon," and as a result, we see the uprising of a new and somewhat radical partnership between the Church and a Christian matchmaking service, Cache' Connections.  Hey, if it's all about God and all from God, then why not?  Why put God in a box and say He can't move through a partnership involving the Church and a vital singles Christian ministry?  Let's face it, we all do life online nowadays, so maybe it's time to meet singles where they are today.  Oftentimes God calls us to trust Him in moving forward in new ways to "expand our territory."

Here's How the Program Works:
-A church agrees to hosting an area-wide six month to one year Christian Dating Redefined (CDR) singles group
-The church can be completely "hands off."  We just want to use your space as a venue, although we welcome the church to preview all plans and programming.
-There should not be a cost to the church.
-The group is run by volunteers under the direction of Cache' Connections
-All coordination of details, marketing and volunteers will be handled by Cache' Connections
-The focus is two-fold:  1)  connecting Christian singles; 2)  providing biblical relationship advice
-All materials, instructions and refreshments are provided by Cache' Connections
-All teaching is done through DVD's featuring well-known respected speakers
-There will be a $6 charge for attendees at each meeting (which includes refreshments)
-Most groups will meet bi-weekly
-There will be an area-wide marketing campaign highlighting the church hosting the CDR meetings
-We suggest the program will start with a large kickoff event

All adult singles - 20 - 60+
