"The Real Deal"
"For many years, we have prayed about and hoped for a service like yours, one that is willing to be overtly Christian, and one that promotes marriage within Godly, healthy parameters."

Ready to move forward and "Get Out Of The Boat?"
Finally, believers have a common connection point to find each other and take a step towards a new relationship.
Henry Picks Kimberly!

Before the date on Saturday I went to the salon. In all (within two days) I was at the salon for almost 8 hours! Massage, hair, nails, make-up..the whole deal. I don't think I have had that much time to myself in weeks. It was great! The ladies were wonderful and very excited about the whole date. Everyone kept asking.. "Are you nervous at all? Have you seen him or even talked to him yet?" And honestly...no, I wasn't really nervous! We had talked a couple times on the phone so I was really just excited to meet him.
Henry came and picked me up..right on time :) beautiful fall flowers and candy from Dan's Homemade in hand. The candy I didn't really get to enjoy..my sisters on the other hand loved it :-) Sweets like that don't last very long around them. I have had Dan's candy before though so I know it's good! We drove to Carrabba's Italian Grille, which was absolutely packed (homecoming weekend for the high schools) and Janessa, the photographer met us there. Janessa was very friendly and made us feel comfortable with her being there. She waited with us before we were seated for dinner and asked us questions about the contest. She also told us little bit about herself and her job. She seemed very passionate about photography when she was talking...which is always a good sign since that's what she does for a living! Apparently Henry and I look nothing like our pictures...or so she said :) But she snapped a few pics while we were at our table which was somewhat awkward because that entire side of the restaurant was now staring at us and thinking what in the world is going on!
After we were seated the owner (or manager..I can't quite remember how he introduced himself) came over to say welcome and ask if there was anything we needed. He was really nice and it was great that he took the time to come say hi to us when the restaurant was so busy. Carrabba's definitely had the "Italian" atmosphere; dimmed lights, vineyard decor, and of course Italian cuisine!. Henry chose cannelloni (I think..) and I ordered chicken parmesan. We were both pretty full after dinner and weren't going to get any dessert, but the waitress came back telling us that we still had enough on our gift certificate to get something so we decided just to go for it. Might as well right?! We shared cheesecake and I have to say, it was really good! Henry made the comment..."Too bad Janessa left already. Kim and Linda would have loved a picture of us sharing dessert!"
We talked for a couple hours about jobs, church, family and everything. On our way out Henry asked if I wanted to go out for coffee so we headed to downtown Naperville and went to Starbucks.....of course listening to the cubs game on the way there..who were losing by the way..but coffee was good as well (seriously..can coffee really be bad?)! I really enjoyed just talking to and getting to know him. He's a pretty funny guy! We seemed to have quite a bit in common and that made it kind of easy to share stories and such. He was a gentlemen all night -- which is pretty hard to come by now days. So yeah ... all in all it was a fun night and hopefully we will get to hang out again ;-)
In Henry's words:
Before the date on Saturday I picked up the flowers and candy for Kim that was generously donated to the cause. Kim and I spoke before the dated, and we decided that I would pick her up to drive together to the restaurant. The main reason for this was that we could get to know each other before
there was a photographer taking our pictures, which was really awkward for us (or at least it was for me) in the restaurant. Everyone was watching and wondering why our picture was being taken. Anyway, the dinner was very enjoyable. Kim and I found that we had similar backgrounds, and the conversation flowed. After dinner I asked Kim if she would like to grab some coffee and talk some more. She accepted, and we had some more good conversation. After coffee, I decided to wrap the date up, as we both had to wake up fairly early for church the next day. All in all, I think the single spotlight date went well.
