Kristy arrives at Cliffbreakers in style!

Waiting for Johnny...

In rushes Johnny!

Dining in their private car.

It was a tough choice, but Johnny chose Kristy, mostly due to the wonderfully kind things that her friends had to say about her as they called in their votes to WQFL. One friend reported that Kristy is a true example of "Jesus with skin on" ... the deciding factor. Johnny's heart was warmed by Kristy's volunteerism at the R.O.C.K.Childrens' Ministry, where she teaches to 4th grade students on Wednesday nights.

On the afternoon of the big date, Kristy enjoyed being pampered at The Experience Salon, where she was treated to a facial, hairstyle, manicure and pedicure. (She was treated to a massage earlier in th week as part of her prize package.) Kristy was picked up at her home by the Cliffbreakers limousine, which she learned was owned by the late Luciano Pavarotti.

She arrived promptly at Cliffbreakers at 7:10 pm, and was photographed getting out of the limo. Looking around for Johnny, but not finding him, she and Kevin Harvey, the photographer, chatted for a few minutes in the lounge. Moments later, in rushes Johnny V. toting 12 beautiful red roses provided by Crimson Ridge, apologizing for being late. (Who can resist a man carrying roses?) More photos were taken by Kevin Harvey, inside of Cliffbreakers and outside, including overlooking the swollen Rock river.

They were seated in one of the club cars and enjoyed watching the unusual fish in their private fish tank.

Tammy, their server, was very attentive in keeping their glasses full. Philipe, the head chef at Cliffbreakers, introduced himself and asked if they had any diet limitations. Kristy and Johnny let Philipe choose the dishes he would serve for them.

After enjoying appetizers which consisted of bacon-wrapped shrimp, beef skewers and an avocado delight, Kristy and Johnny enjoyed a scrumptious salad and dinner rolls.

The main course was served, which consisted of delectable beef and fish entrees. Served on the side were grilled vegetables and rosemary potatoes.

Individual chocolate torte desserts were prepared for the Spotlight couple by Debra Collins of Simply Cake. The waitress asked Kristy and Johnny if they wanted one or both of them cut, and they chose to cut two small pieces off of one torte. The sweet delicacy was thoroughly enjoyed by both, and Johnny gave his torte to Kristy to take home and share with friends.

Johnny and Kristy enjoyed conversation with each other without any awkward moments, finding they have a lot of common interests. Johnny agreed to be a judge for a talent contest for a children's ministry that Kristy volunteers for.at Rock House. Lastly, Kristy pulled out a surprise gift... which was a Cubs t-shirt for Johnny's pooch Lexie! He was sooooo excited!

Dinner ended around 10:00 p.m., and Kristy's limousine was waiting to whisk her home ... before it turned into a pumpkin, we think :)
